For those of you who absolutely, positively can’t wait to see more of the Touch Diamond in action, the folks over at pocketnow are giving you a taste of what it’s like to hold one in your hands. Apparently, when you boot up the phone you’re greeted with a helpful video showing you how to navigate the heavily-skinned version of Windows Mobile (AKA Touch Flo 3D) that it sports. Needless to say, it’s smoother than a baby’s bottom. Not that we’d know. Video after the break in its full 640 x 480 resolution.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 vs HTC Touch Diamond… fight!

We’re not sure how they pulled it off, so kudos to CNMO for snapping the HTC Touch Diamond up against the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. Undoubtedly the world’s most hotly anticipated cellphones this side of the still fictional 3G iPhone and Nokia Tube. While the Xperia X1 definitely sports some extra chub, remember, there’s an arc sliding QWERTY tucked beneath that VGA display. Hit the read link for bigger pics.

Nothing new to report on the Touch Diamond’s tech here, but wow, look how fun the box is! Of course, we know you’re all waiting to see what they stuffed in the wedge-shaped package, and the answer is a charger, headset, USB cable, a manual or two, and the software. The charger appears to be a universal job with a swappable plug for travel, and the headset a typical example of an HTC pack-in — albeit with a dash of fun and angular design. HTC Touch Diamond vs. iPhone, fight!

Our brethren over at Engadget Chinese had the chance to size-up HTC’s new Windows Mobile 6.1 Touch Diamond with Apple’s iPhone this morning in Taiwan. We have to admit, HTC’s CEO was dead-on when he claimed that the Diamond’s “not too big, not too small” after seeing it side-by-side with Microsoft’s left-coast nemesis.
